Sally Marks wanted to take photographs from the moment the now world famous photographer, Helmut Newton, took childhood portraits of her and her siblings.
In the 70s, after studying graphics and photography at college, Sally left Melbourne to pursue her dreams in London. Within months she had a high profile agent and a list of impressive fashion, editorial and advertising clients.
Five years later she was living, working and exhibiting in New York. On returning to Melbourne in the mid 80s, Sally joined the prestigious Church Studio and, in conjunction with her photographic fashion and advertising career, continued exhibiting her abstract art at the Seal Club Gallery in Albert Park. Prolonged stints living and working in Indonesia and Hong Kong followed, with magazine assignments to exotic locations.
Nine years ago Sally started her now very successful wedding photography business.
In 2007 she opened Gallery One in Albert Park to exhibit and sell her limited edition, highly textural, abstract photographic art prints and canvases.
